frequently asked questions

Here is a list of FAQ’s I created based on client inquiries. Feel free to ask if you don’t see an answer to your question here.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

Keep it simple and fun! Compliment each other, don't match. The days of matching blue jeans and white shirts have long past! This is your chance to show off your unique style. Gap, Old Navy, and H&M are all great places to start. Try and stick with colors that compliment each other; for example cool tones (light blues, grays, pinks) or warmer tones (oranges, burdundy). Start with one person and build your color palette from there.

Accessories such as scarves, jewelry, etc add a special touch to outfits. Layering sweaters or jackets with different textures and colors photograph well and of course, try to choose clothing without brand names across them or loud patterns.

Newborns – All natural is best. I have a variety of colored wraps available for use during the session but I prefer that we use hats, headbands and blankets that you own and are special to you.

Children – This will depend on age and session location, but keep bright, bold colors in mind! Layering looks great!

CAN I REQUEST CERTAIN NEWBORN POSES OR SHOTS I’VE SEEN ON OTHER PHOTOGRAPHY SITES?

Yes, you can. I will make every attempt to get you what you want in terms of poses; however there are certain poses, that in my own opinion, are unsafe and pose harm to the baby. Your baby's safety is the number one priority for me.

CAN SIBLINGS AND PARENTS BE IN A FEW NEWBORN SESSION SHOTS?

Of course! I do recommend that siblings and anyone who is not mom or dad and is wanting to be in photos with baby not join the session until the last 30-60 minutes. The session does last a few hours and little ones tend to get cranky having to wait around.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD HAVE/BRING?

A pacifier! These are GOLD in keeping them asleep! I definitely suggest that you have items that have some meaning to you: special baby blankets, the cutest stuffed animal the baby has received, and things like that. You might also consider hats or headbands that you think would be cute in photographs. Having plenty of extra diapers on hand and burp cloths are a must! I also suggest pulling out an extra set of clothes for mom and dad, just in case. Occasionally, a diaper-less baby makes a clothing change for a parent a reality.

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE MY PICTURES?

My typical turn around for a full gallery of images is 2-3 weeks.

DO YOU DO photograph WEDDINGS and EVENTS ?

At this time, I am only scheduling for newborn, children, and family sessions. I am not taking weddings or other events.
